Three strategic partners driving the development of electric mobility: the City of Verona, AGSM and Volkswagen Group Italia join forces for the Electrify Verona project.
The mobility of tomorrow will be electric, but buying an e-vehicle is not enough to travel emission free – appropriate infrastructure and organisation are also required. Currently, the lack of charging points and the operating costs for an electric car seem to be the main limitations on a wider spread of e-mobility in Italy. The northern Italian city of Verona is sending a strong signal along these lines, providing concrete solutions and a tangible contribution to change things. The city administration joins together with AGSM (main electricity supplier in Verona) and Volkswagen Group Italia, the Italian subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, to give citizens the opportunity to get acquainted with what is, to all intents and purposes, a new era of mobility. |

Electrify Verona is a fully-fledged mobility system dedicated to electric car owners, which includes free access to the restricted traffic area in the city centre, free parking, the use of fast charging stations and the free of charge installation of a domestic charging point for residents in the municipality of Verona who buy a fully electric car – regardless of brand – between September 2018 and December 2019. A later stage of the project will see the development of a network of intelligent stations equipped with Wi-Fi, video surveillance and fast charging for electric vehicles. The plan provides for a total of 100 charging points, which will make Verona the city with the greatest number of fast charging points per inhabitant, compared to larger Italian cities. |
