SEAT Healthy Week, an initiative for the health and wellbeing of employees
With more than 40 activities dedicated to the 20,000 employees of SEAT S.A. and the Volkswagen Group in Spain, the Healthy Week confirms the Company's commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle among its employees.
The 2023 edition of SEAT Healthy Week, the week dedicated to the wellbeing of SEAT S.A. and Volkswagen Group employees in Spain, took place in recent weeks: days featuring workshops and meetings, both in-person and online, on general and mental health, safety, nutrition, physical exercise and more.
SEAT Healthy Week is one of many projects focused on employee wellness promoted by the company. Established in 2018 and repeated on an annual basis, it has immediately proven to be an important initiative that confirms the Company's commitment to employee health and safety, with activities that go far beyond the normal standards and have a focus on healthy and wholesome lifestyles.
Quality of Life
"Healthy Week is an opportunity to provide our employees with helpful resources to improve their physical and mental wellbeing, but also to strengthen our culture of safety and risk prevention in the workplace. Committing to the health of our employees means investing in the long-term success of the company and the quality of life of our working community", explains Patricia Such, Director of Corporate Operations at SEAT S.A.
Among the many highlights of SEAT Healthy Week 2023 are the presentations given by various health professionals, many of them members of the SEAT Healthy Company Scientific Committee (CSSES). For the first time, some of these activities were open to the public at CASA SEAT.
Continued success
Employee participation is steadily increasing, as is the number of workshops and presentations included in the week's program. SEAT has organized a wide range of activities on topics of interest to all employees: also in 2023, the Banc de Sang i Teixits (Blood and Tissue Bank) was set up at the Martorell headquarters to allow people to donate blood. In the sphere of safety, SEAT employees received valuable information on how to drive an electric two-wheel vehicle in the most efficient way by riding SEAT MÓ scooters.
Workshops and guests
The workshops covered topics ranging from first aid to nutrition to self-defense. In many cases, there were special guests, such as Dr. Mercedes Sotos Prieto, a researcher in Nutritional Epidemiology and Assistant Professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, who shared the results of her latest research related to diet and wellness; while Dr. Bonaventura Clotet, President and Founder of Fundación Lucha contra las Infecciones, shared his experience in fighting Covid-19.
Earlier this year SEAT S.A. received the European Sport & Healthy Company 2022 award in its Gold category. This award recognizes the projects that companies dedicate to their employees and the entire Spanish society regarding health and physical activity. In particular, SEAT S.A.'s commitment during the pandemic and its various mental health initiatives were awarded.
